Do Everything It Takes To Get Out Now!

Proverbs 6:3 – So do this, my son, to free yourself, since you have fallen into your neighbor’s hands: Go—to the point of exhaustion— and give your neighbor no rest!

Proverbs 6:4 – Allow no sleep to your eyes,

no slumber to your eyelids.

Proverbs 6:5 – Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,

like a bird from the snare of the fowler.

The book of Proverbs was written by the wisest man to ever live. It contains wisdom on how to live a good life. Reading it is drinking from a sure fountain.

1 Kings 3:12 – I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be.

God promised King Solomon that he will make him the wisest man to ever live. Nobody who lived before Solomon was wiser than him. No one including us who have lived after Solomon are wiser than him. The words written by Solomon in the Bible are not only inspired but high grade wisdom.

In our chapter of consideration today, Solomon begins by explaining how to get yourself out of a set up. If you have made a commitment of your wealth for a neighbor or anyone, you are in a trap. People are rarely honest, there is a higher chance you will lose what you committed.

The moment you realize you acted foolishly, Solomon says recognize you are in trouble. Don’t wait for your neighbor or whoever it is to default so that you lose what you committed. Act immediately to save yourself. Act desperately until your neighbor releases you from the commitment. Solomon say’s don’t even allow yourself to sleep. Time is of essence. Act desperate until you are free like a gazelle from a hunter’s trap. Do everything it takes to get out!

Has someone given you a job or money or in favor in order for you to support a corrupt process? In order for you to facilitate something unprocedural(sic)? The commitment you have made is not in your favor. You will be the ultimate loser. You will carry the guilty. You will be the face of corruption. Do everything it takes to get out of that deal!

A job in exchange for sex? Exam grades in exchange for sex? Whatever favors in exchange for sex? If you have accepted the deal, you are in trouble. You will be used and abused then dumped in a manner you will regret. Your commitment to such an arrangement has set you up for permanent pain and regret in future. In inspiration and wisdom, Solomon tells you to get out immediately. Do everything it takes to get out of that arrangement now!

Solomon says, don’t even sleep. Solomon says time is of essence. Act desperate and walk away now.

You are in an outing with friends and you realize they are drunk and driving dangerously. Act desperate and get out of that vehicle immediately. The next kilometer could be a fatal accident. Your presence in that group of friends is a foolish commitment you made. Act now or regret immediately later. Do everything it takes to get out now!

You realize your friends are engaged in crime, may be drug abuse, drug trafficking, robbery or fighting people or whatever it is. Being present and identified with the group is selling yourself out. You are in danger of being arrested as an accomplice. You are in danger of lifetime imprisonment. Solomon advises that act immediately. Do everything it takes to disassociate yourself from such friends.

You realize your friends or relatives invited you to an innocent trip which turns to be going to some spiritually suspicious commitment. You are about to make a pact with demons. You are about to be part of evil worship. You are about to be committed to that which you know is wrong. However good the promise, you will be a prisoner of demonic forces. Don’t worship there. Don’t bow. Don’t accept cut marks on your body. Don’t take charms. Don’t give offerings for sacrifice. Solomon both in inspired wisdom says, do everything to get out of that place and pact!

Have you accepted a relationship that turns out to be progressively dangerous to your life. Growing unrelenting physical abuse? You will soon be a statistic of those who died foolishly for love. You are there for the sake of what, yet you will soon be killed? Will your death improve your reputation or help your children? Run for your life, Solomon advises. Today may be the last safe day. Run now or perish. Do everything to get out now!

If you have taken a loan from Shylocks, the repayment plan will destroy you. Repay now. Refund it now. Act desperate and get out. Every passing day increases the value of what you will lose. Solomon has an inspired word of wisdom for you. Act desperate. Do everything to get out now!

You join a prayer or Bible study group that seems spiritual. Suddenly you notice extremist tendencies. They hate the Marin stream church. They have weird beliefs and processes. You soon realize you are getting ostracized from church, family and normal life. Run now before those extremists enslave your mind and you become their puppet. Do everything to get out now!

Solomon tells us that sometimes we make decisions that are not in our favor. We set ourselves up for pain, regret and failure. Solomon advises that whatever it is, getting out now, is your best bet. May God help us to realize we are in danger. May God help us to get our desperately now! In Jesus’s name, Amen!
