Job 5:18
For he wounds, but he also binds up;
he injures, but his hands also heal.
New Living Translation
For though he wounds, he also bandages. He strikes, but his hands also heal.
Amplified Bible
“For He inflicts pain, but He binds up and gives relief; He wounds, but His hands also heal.
Contemporary English Version
He may cause injury and pain, but he will bandage and heal your cuts and bruises.
Good News Translation
God bandages the wounds he makes; his hand hurts you, and his hand heals.
People hurt us intentionally and unintentionally. People cause us pain. We regret meeting and interacting with certain people because they hurt us.
Those we love hurt us. Those who claim to love us also hurt us. Enemies we know hurt us. People we never knew also hurt us.
To hurt someone is considered an evil thing. Only evil sinful people are expected to hurt others. Believers who hurt others are considered hypocrites. With that understanding, can a holy, and a perfectly good God hurt anyone?
Hebrews 12:6
because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”
Hebrews 12:7
Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?
Hebrews 12:8
If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline —then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all.
The Bible tells us that God like any earthly parent may hurt a child as part of a disciplinary process. The discipline though painful is a demonstration that we are legitimate children. A Parent disciplines the legitimate children because they want them to turn out to be good and successful. A child who is not disciplined will have a bad future and will turn out to be a spoilt child. A child who is not disciplined is not loved and is not legitimate.
Hebrews 12:9
Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live!
Hebrews 12:10
They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness.
Hebrews 12:11
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
God can hurt us as part of discipline. The hurt is painful and unpleasant. However, in the end, it is a good thing.
Job 5:18 tells us that when God wounds us, He also treats that wound. When God strikes, He also heals. If God hurts you, He will address your pain and heal you!
God can hurt you by not answering a desperate prayer. God can hurt you by allowing a painful experience. But the Bible says when God hurts us He also heals.
That prayer that God didn’t answer, He will answer in a better way. That hope you had but ended up in a disappointment, that hope will be richly rewarded. When God hurts us, He also heals us!
Has God hurt you? Are you angry with God? Is it an opportunity lost? Is it death? Is it a prayer not answered? If God hurts you, He will fix that hurt, He will heal you!
Job 13:15
Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him;
I will surely defend my ways to his face.
New Living Translation
God might kill me, but I have no other hope. I am going to argue my case with him.
Contemporary English Version
God may kill me, but still I will trust him and offer my defense.
You can only make such statements when you know that if God hurts you, He will heal you. Even if God kills you, He is the giver of life. If God hurts you, He will fix it!
Daniel 3:16
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter.
Daniel 3:17
If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand.
Daniel 3:18
But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
Even if God doesn’t save us from the fire, we will remain faithful to Him by not doing what you want us to do. We will not worship your image. Even if God doesn’t save us from you, it is still Him who will, later on, save us from you. If God hurts me, since He is the one who will fix the hurt, I will remain faithful to Him who has hurt me, in Jesus’s name, Amen!

Hey,I have a question. There is a project which is group work. A group report which was to submitted the next day ,before that day the other members compiled their work and they sent to me.I was supposed to add my work which I did then I sent each a copy through email. One of the members complimented my work. The next day they printed the work when I was not in,later I checked and saw that they didn’t print my part of the work which I included and one of them complimented. They told me that they didn’t see my work which I sent and one of the members who complimented my work also claimed that he didn’t see it.How am I suppose to work with the same individuals in the same project yet they don’t consider my opinions/work and lie that they didn’t see my work?
First, forgive them. Second, seek to change the group to another group, if no other way to resolve the issue is found. May God help you!
