Hosea 4:17
Ephraim is joined to idols;
leave him alone!
Leave him alone. That means do not disturb him. That means giving him space so that he can privately interrogate the issues and make a decision. But it also means, we have given up on him and let him face whatever comes, good or bad. Leave him alone!
In this passage, leave him alone is used to suggest that God has given up on Ephraim. Leave him alone, don’t help him anymore. Don’t plead with him anymore. Don’t try to correct him anymore. Leave him alone!
I have done everything that could be done to help him. Leave him alone. I have persevered but nothing seems to change. Leave him alone. He has squandered opportunities and chances to better himself. Leave him alone. Anything that could have been done to help him has been done without success. Leave him alone!
Romans 1:24
Therefore GOD GAVE THEM OVER in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.
Romans 1:25
They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
Romans 1:26
Because of this, GOD GAVE THEM OVER to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.
When people persist in sin, they risk getting to a point where God gives upon them. When we ignore the call to repentance and Bible recommended lifestyle, we risk getting to a point where God gives upon us. After God pleads with anyone, it gets to a point where He lets go. God declares to angels and human agents who are serving you – leave him alone!
2 Chronicles 36:15-17
(15) The LORD, the God of their ancestors, sent word to them through his messengers again and again, because he had pity on his people and on his dwelling place. (16) But they mocked God’s messengers, despised his words and scoffed at his prophets until the wrath of the LORD was aroused against his people and there was no remedy. (17) He brought up against them the king of the Babylonians, who killed their young men with the sword in the sanctuary, and did not spare young men or young women, the elderly or the infirm. God gave them all into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar.
Before God gave up Israel to be attacked and destroyed by Babylonians, He pleaded with them in many and various ways. God kept sending different messengers and prophets, but the Israelites ignored them and mocked them. God tried everything until he reached where He declared – leave them alone! At that point, God’s favor was withdrawn from Israel and they became subject to attack, loss, failure, and death. They lost nationhood. It is very dangerous to every aspect of our life when God says – leave him alone!
We cannot persist in sin forever, one day God closes that door without any further notice. God cannot be pleading with us on the same Bible truths and we create excuses instead of getting converted. One day it will be too late to make a decision even if we are willing. Then God will declare to those who could help us find Him – leave him alone!
Revelation 22:11
Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.”
At the end of time, God will close the door of mercy. Probation will close. No more mercy for the sinner. No more preaching. No more pleading. No more begging. No more singing appearing songs. No more servants of God are available. Those who are on God’s side will be saved. Those opposed to God will have no opportunity to repent. It will be the moment for all divine agencies to be told – leave him alone!
Dear God, save me from the delayed response. Help me to be quick in responding to the things of God. May I not delay until you give up on me. In the name of Jesus’ Amen!

Hallelujah!
Amen… It’s scaring to know that the Lord will not plead with us forever.
We are glad He has informed us in advance…
