No Better News Than This!

Romans 5:1
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

The best news carries information that we anxiously sought. The best news is about our lives getting better. The best news means things have changed for the better.

Paul announces in our text today that we have peace with God! There is no better news than this, that we have peace with God. This news changes everything for the better. We have peace with God!

God created the world therefore He owns everything we have. The world is His. He is the landlord. Sin brought a hostile disagreement between us and God. Imagine being in a bad relationship with the only landlord in town. That is why it is good news to note that we are now in a good relationship with God the world’s landlord. There is no better news than this. We have peace with God!

Psalms 136:25
He gives food to every creature.
His love endures forever.

God gives food to every creature including us. Sin made us totally disagree with the only source of food in the universe. We only received food by grace. Our disagreement with God threatened our only source of food. Peace with God guarantees our source of food. This is the best news ever that we are now in good books with the only source of food. There is no better news than this. We have peace with God!

Daniel 5:23
… But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.

God has the life of each one of us in His hands. He decides whether we live or die. All our ways are in His hands. God can determine if we fail or succeed. Yet sin made us offend and disagree with God who determines our fate and that of what we do. Having peace with such a God is the best news ever for it brings complete security. There is no better news than this. We have peace with God!

If you have peace with God who is the superpower you have nothing to fear. If you have peace with God no one can threaten you. If you have peace with God you do not worry about uncertainties. If you have peace with God you have the best life ever. There is no better news than this. We have peace with God!

If someone threatens us, we tell him or her that we have peace with God. That means God is on our side and will fight for us. If sickness comes or temporary failure- we will comfort ourselves by claiming that we have peace with God. That means nothing will happen with his approval. That means at the end of whatever situation it shall be well for us. There is no better news than this. We have peace with God!

May the meaning of these words sink into our minds and strengthen our faith – we have peace with God! In Jesus’s name, Amen!
