2 Kings 5:8
When Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his robes, he sent him this message: “Why have you torn your robes? Have the man come to me and he will know that there is a prophet in Israel.”
When Naaman the Assyrian General asked the king of Israel to heal of leprosy, the king couldn’t handle it. The king was shocked. The king felt provoked. The king got into a fit of rage and tore his clothes while swearing that this healing request was a ploy to trigger a war between Israel and Assyria.
The king felt overwhelmed by what he couldn’t handle. What he couldn’t handle caused him to burst out in rage. What he couldn’t handle, got the better of him. How do you deal with what you can’t handle?
Many things that we can handle come our way and through old methods, we solve them and move on. Sometimes we use new methods and address what we can handle. But some days, what we can’t handle comes our way. We find ourselves overwhelmed. We find ourselves drowning in situations where we are helpless. How should we deal with what we can’t handle?
We can handle some diseases, but others are just too much. We can handle some stages of sickness, but some stages are just overwhelming. We can find ourselves with what we can’t handle in our physical health. How should we deal with that which we can’t handle?
Some relationship challenges are manageable, but some are overwhelming and we can’t handle them. Some financial challenges are normal but others we can’t handle. How do we deal with that which we can’t handle?
When the king got overwhelmed by a situation he couldn’t handle, Elisha the prophet told him what to do. Elisha sent a message to the king asking him to send Naaman to him for healing. Elisha in other words tells the king that if he can’t handle it, he should send it to God. Send to God what you can’t handle!
Elisha tells the king to send Naaman to him so that Naaman can know there is a God in Israel. Send your impossibilities to God. Send what you can’t handle to God. Do not give up because of death or disease, send it to God. Let no situation be too much yet God is available, willing, and capable to help you. Take your impossibilities to God, in Jesus’s name, Amen!
