What An Assurance!

Isaiah 7:7 – Yet this is what the Sovereign LORD says:“‘It will not take place, it will not happen,

I love this assurance. I pray that God grants me the same assurance when I am under attack from anyone anywhere. May God say these same words about the plans of anyone who may be plotting evil against me and those who are mine and that which is mine.

Judah had just been attacked by a coalition of enemies who include their brothers of the northern kingdom. The enemies were fierce and had an advantage of knowing them so well. The enemies had a plan against them that was quite scary!

God tells the people of Judah that they shouldn’t worry because He is aware of the enemies’ plans. Then God makes the statement in our text today. God declares that whatever plans the enemies of Judah have – “It will not take place, it will not happen.”

Isaiah 7:5 – Aram, Ephraim and Remaliah’s son have plotted your ruin, saying,

Isaiah 7:6 – “Let us invade Judah; let us tear it apart and divide it among ourselves, and make the son of Tabeel king over it.”

Isaiah 7:7 – Yet this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “‘It will not take place, it will not happen,

God saw the enemies planning. God heard the enemies planning. When Judah learnt of the plans of their enemies, God already knew those plans. God assures Judah that He has a plan against those plans, and therefore- “It will not take place, it will not happen.”

Whatever God speaks, happens. By God’s word the world was created. God spoke and there was light. God spoke and there was a sky. God spoke and there was a dry ground and vegetation. When God speaks, nothing is impossible, it shall come to pass. This same God therefore has spoken about our enemies and their plans. God who speaks and it happens, says that whatever the enemies are planning- “It will not take place, it will not happen.”

God spoke and the blind could see. God spoke and lepers got healed. God spoke and the dead came back to life. This same  God says that whatever our enemies are secretly plotting- “It will not take place, it will not happen.”

May God speak these words today addressing whatever anyone anywhere is plotting against you and me. May God declare today about their plans, that – “It will not take place, it will not happen.” In Jesus’s name, Amen!
