Your Residence Determines Your Destiny and Life!

Romans 8:8-9 (NIV) – 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.

9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.

Residence is where you spend your time. Residence is where you have chosen to live. Residence is where you identify with us home. Your residence determines your destiny and life!

Destiny is where you will end up. Destiny is where your journey and efforts end. Destiny is where your chosen path leads to. Your residence determines your destiny and life!

Romans chapter eight talks about the Spirit and the Flesh. These two are residences we choose to live in. If you live in the Spirit residence, you are governed by spiritual desires to do the will of God. If you live in the flesh residence, you are governed by earthly and desires of your body. Your residence determines your destiny and life!

Romans chapter eight emphasizes that those in the flesh realm or flesh residence cannot please God, not even if they want. Even if they try they can’t. When you live in the realm or residence of flesh, you lack the Holy Spirit who enables everyone to do the will of God. You can’t please God in that residence. Your residence determines your destiny and life!

In the residence of flesh of human desires, you can’t please God. You can’t do the Will of God. God can’t bless or guide you. You live alone. You suffer alone. You perish eternally alone. Your residence determines your destiny and life!

In the residence of the Spirit you live with God. You are guided by God. You are protected by God. You are led to greatness and success by God. Eventually you live eternally with God. Your residence determines your destiny and life!

Romans 8:26 (NIV) – In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

If your residence is in the Spirit, the Holy Spirit will help you in all your weaknesses. That means your weaknesses become your strength. But if you live in the flesh, your weaknesses become your failing and embarrassment point, for there is no help in weakness. Your residence determines your destiny and life!

Romans 8:28 (NIV) – And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

For those living in the spirit, God changes everything to be in their favor. Sickness in your favor. Rejection in your favor. Losses in your favor. For those who live in the flesh they experience a life without help ending in misery. Your residence determines your destiny and life!

Romans 8:31 (NIV) – What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Those who reside in the Spirit can’t be successfully opposed. No one can be against them successfully. But if you live in the flesh, all enemies take you from one defeat to another. Your residence determines your destiny and life!

May God grant us the wisdom to chose to live in the Spirit. May we lack the appetite to please the flesh, the earthly and bodily desires. May we live victoriously daily in God. In Jesus’s name, Amen!
