    I however had a question, please teach me why in the year that Jesus was born is not 0.
    I mean BC means Before Christ, And AD means Anno Domini( in the year of our Lord) Jesus is Baptisted at AD27 at age 30?
    meaning he wasn’t born OAD?
    how is that? please help

    1. In secular history we refer to BC as BCE (Before Common Era) and AD is what we refer to as CE (Common Era). Christian writers, scholars and historians refer to BCE as BC in reference to the fact that Christ hadn’t been born. They also refer to CE as AD.

      Therefore BC and AD are Christian lingo and may not accurately fall on the general secular history in relation to the birth of Christ. Therefore AD doesn’t have to begin on the year you refer to as zero.

      Therefore usage of BC and AD is generally understood in relation to BCE and CE
