Are you afraid of breaking up or approaching a potential partner? Are you afraid of cutting off bad friends? Just do it. Are you afraid of saving money? You think it is too small. Do you fear it won’t grow? Don’t delay, save that small consistently and look at it after three months. Are you afraid of investing? After doing all the research, take a risk. Not investing is a sure risk that will return nothing. Take a risk of getting returns.
What has the heartbreak revealed about you? What has lack of money said about you? What has the diagnosis revealed about your trust in God? What has job loss made clear about your relationship with God? What has the coming serious exam and the tempting need to study on Sabbath tell about your faith in God?
The worst symptom of the times is recorded in our text today..Whatever disease causes headache does not matter, the headache has to be treated too. The worst symptom is an additional problem to the problem one is facing. The worst symptom needs to be addressed while the real problem is also being addressed.
Maybe your problem is understanding the other gender in order to live peacefully, therefore God takes you through heartbreaks to train you to be a good spouse. Maybe your problem is the inability to save money, God lets you lack money at a critical point and you wish you had saved money and you learn and accept to save money. Maybe your problem is denying the existence of a disease and its impact on others, God lets you suffer that very disease until you acknowledge that it exists and you sympathize with those who suffer. Maybe your problem is a solution to another problem!
To receive material blessings, you need spiritual preparation or else you miss it. To receive blessings of physical health, you need spiritual preparation, or else you will miss it. To receive blessings in your social relationships, you need spiritual preparation, or else God will prepare it for you and you miss it.
God will be with you in marriage but behave well in that marriage. God will be with you in the journey but drive safely. God will be with you at work but behave responsibly. God will be with you but keep safe from being conned. God will be with you, but you must play your human part. Do not be afraid, victory is guaranteed but you have to fight!
You earn from an immoral relationship. Someone’s spouse is facilitating your life financially. You force people to give. You put them in small groups where they can’t escape. We steal from workers’ rights so that our financial records look clean and attractive. We steal from clients by giving poor services at a high cost.
At some point in the business of life, you will need extra power. You may be managing things well at work or in the business, but at some point, your ability will run out, you will need extra power if you are faithful to God, He will provide the extra power. God knows the marketplace is tough and only He can make it work. God knows your bosses are wicked and your patience and methods with them will run out, only He can provide the pressure they will yield to.
There is a relationship breaking somewhere so that a partner is available for you in the next few weeks. There is a disagreement in a secret relationship that you know nothing about but will stabilize your marriage. There is someone mistreating a customer somewhere who will be your best business deal out of that stress. Somewhere unknown to us, God has landed to save us!
