Key Reason To Treat Workers Well

Colossians 4:1
Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven.

There are many good reasons for treating workers well. Workers make your business possible. Treat them well because they generate business for you. Please don’t treat them as dispensable.

Treat workers well because it is humane. They too share your struggles. They have families like you. They have needs like you. They have desires to excel and be appreciated like you. They too want to be appreciated like you. They want to be forgiven like you would want to be given another chance when wrong.

We share a common life and destiny. Treat those under you as equals because, in the final analysis, we are all subject to God’s judgment. We all face death and get disposed of as we wait for eternal life. We suffer similar misfortunes and illnesses.

Workers in Bible times included slaves and those hired. Apostle Paul tells the church members to treat workers well. The hallmark of a Christian boss is that the workers under her or him are glad. Are workers under you happy or terrorized?

A boss who creates a toxic environment for the workers is not a believer. Believers were commanded in our text to treat their workers well. The test of faith for believers and their commitment to Christ is in how they treat their workers.

The key reason for treating workers well is that we too have a boss in heaven. We are masters on earth but we have a Master in heaven. Treat workers as God treats you. Bear with them as God bears with you.

As we treat workers God will treat us the same way. Would you want God to treat you exactly the way you treat your workers? Since God will treat you the way you treat your workers, review how you treat your workers.

We have workers we are in charge of at the work place. We have workers in our business. We have workers in our homes. Treat workers who are under you well as you want God to treat you. Treat workers who are under you well for that is how God will treat you. May God help us to treat workers well, in Jesus’s name, Amen!
