Knowing What Must Soon Take Place Is Life Changing

Revelation 4:1
After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you WHAT MUST TAKE PLACE AFTER THIS.”

The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants WHAT MUST SOON TAKE PLACE. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,

What kind of knowledge can change a person’s life for the better? There are things that are not worth knowing. But there are other things that once you know you will never be the same again. Knowing what must soon take place is life-changing!

John the Revelator had a vision and in that vision, he saw an open door in heaven. Then a voice in heaven invited him to go over. Come over and I will show you what must soon take place.

Earlier John the Revelator while serving as a Prisoner on Patmos island had a vision that caused him to write the book of Revelation. He begins the book of Revelation by telling us that it is a revelation of Jesus Christ that was given so that His servants can know what must soon take place. That explains the purpose of the book of Revelation. So that we who read May know what must soon take place!

The book of Revelation was written at a time when the church was almost wiped out by persecution. The Christians feared for their lives. The Christians feared for the future of the church. The future was uncertain and dark. At this point when everyone feared for the future, God sends a message to tell them what must soon take place!

Remember it is what MUST take place. That means no amount of persecution will interfere with God’s will. Even when it seems all is lost God still controls the future and there are plans He has that must take place. Therefore, do not fear for your future because God’s plan for you must take place. God’s plan for the church must take place. God’s plan for your family must take place. Do not worry about the crisis you are in, God will keep you safe until His plan for you is fulfilled. Knowing what must soon take place is life-changing!

When God reveals what must soon take place, He is in control. It may look like persecutors are having their day and everyone is hopeless, but God is in control. Only God who is in control knows what must soon take place!

If you know what must soon take place all fear for the future is gone. If you know what must soon take place you prepare for the future. If you know what must soon take place your priorities change. If you know what must soon take place things will never look the same as they are today. Knowing what must soon take place is life-changing!

If you discover that in the next year your employer will fire people and only retain the most productive workers, that knowledge will change how you conduct yourself at work. Knowing what must soon take place at your workplace causes you to be on time, do your best, and be as productive as possible. Knowing what must soon take place is life-changing!

If you discover that those who perform top of the class in the next two years during graduation will get an envied scholarship and trips to your dream destination, won’t that change your life in school? Knowing what must soon take place in your school becomes a life-changing experience. You will avoid friends who mislead you in your studies. You will study more. You will be much more attentive in class. You will not focus on small things like food in school and the freedom to pursue pleasure. Knowing what must soon take place is life-changing!

If you know that soon medical expenses will be up. If you know that soon your children will need more school fees. If you know that soon you will need a house to retire in. Your financial planning and priorities change because you know what will happen soon. Knowing what must soon take place is life-changing!

Do you know that soon the world will come to an end? Do you know that soon we will be judged by God? Do you know that soon we will explain how we accepted or rejected the word of God? Do you know that soon some people will be in heaven enjoying life forever as others are forever destroyed in hell fires? This is what the book of Revelation is about. What must soon take place? Are you ready? Have you reorganized your life so that you will be on the right side when these things come to pass? Has this knowledge changed your life? Knowing what must soon take place is life-changing!

May our lives be changed by God’s grace as we discover daily what must soon take place. May we be found ready when what must soon take place comes to pass. In Jesus’s name, Amen!
