**This sermon has been wonderfully preached today and it’s available on YouTube- Rei Kesis channel.
Revelation 6:15 – Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.
Revelation 6:16 – They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!
Revelation 6:17 – For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”
The Bible tells us in John 3:16 that anyone and everyone can be saved. “Whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Whosoever means anyone and everyone can be saved. All are welcome to get saved.
What about those who will end up in hell? What about those who will get lost? What about those who will suffer eternally? Who are these? What kind of people are they?
The Bible tells us that when the end of time comes, there will be panic and desperation among those who will get lost. They will discover too late that they postponed salvation until it is now too late. Be warned about postponing making a decision on the things of God.
They will discover too late that their reasoning and rationalization doesn’t apply in the things of God. They will discover they just needed raw primitive faith that takes God at His word. They will discover that clever arguments wouldn’t buy eternal life. You are not saved by how much you argue and reason, but by believing in God.
They will discover too late that their status in society is not a factor of salvation. They will discover that having been the most feared and respected person doesn’t earn you a direct ticket to eternal life. You will be expected to have faith like everyone else. There is no VIP and VVIP treatment for eternal life. Accept salvation like everyone else. Get baptized like everyone else. Attend church like everyone else!
They will discover too late that being poor and miserable on earth doesn’t mean you will enter into heaven out of sympathy. We are saved by grace and not by someone sympathizing with our suffering. You can be the poorest and most mistreated person and still end up in hell. Your misery doesn’t excuse you from doing the will of God in scripture. Everyone may sympathize with you but salvation requires faith in action. You may be used to showing people how much you are in misery and they help you, but salvation is different, you must believe like everyone else!
Our day to day status in society is human limited. God will not be influenced by your status that influences people in society. Your privilege or lack of it is inconsequential. The demands of salvation are the same for everyone.
Our Bible list of the hell bound people shows that anyone can get lost. The Bible text today shows that any of us can be found in eternal hell. We must actively pray and seek salvation that has been freely offered to everyone. May God save us all, in Jesus’s name, Amen!
