Luke 1:8
Once when Zechariah’s division was on duty and he was serving as priest before God,
Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth had no child. They had prayed for a child for a very long time. Now they were too old (Luke 1:7) and there was no need to keep praying for a child. Zechariah was a priest. Priests served in the temple in turns. When the turn for Zechariah’s group to serve in the temple came, he went into work. While at work an angel appeared to him with good news.
The angel informed Zechariah that they will have a child named John. Luke 1:13. This was an answer to the many years of prayer. When you pray until you forget and are no longer interested in the answer that never came, God still remembers the request. God will answer you, even when you forget and lose interest. Anything told to God will be addressed. When someone helps you and you ask God to bless them, God will bless them in His time even when you have forgotten. When someone offends you and you ask God to do justice by punishing that wrong doing, God may not do it immediately, but even long when you have forgotten and reconciled and settled the matter, God can still show up and punish as per your original request. God may be quiet until we forget or lose interest, but He will still act accordingly.
God may have taken long but He still answered the prayer that this couple made for a child. God answered them in a miraculous way. An old couple got a child! An angel came to report the news. Such miraculous blessings come to busy people. Miraculous blessings are reserved for the busy!
God would have responded while Zechariah was resting after duty or before, but God sends an angel while he was busy serving God. Some blessings are reserved for the busy. Miraculous blessings are reserved for the busy!
God appears to Moses while he is taking care of sheep, Exodus 3:1-2. God appears to Gideon while he is busy threshing grains, Judges 6:11. The Angel of the LORD appears to Manoah’s wife while she is busy in the field and he seems he was just idling in the house, Judges 13:9. Jesus promises that miracles will accompany those who will be busy spreading the gospel, Mark 16:15-18. From these few examples and many others, it appears clearly that God appears to people who are busy serving Him or doing something. Miraculous blessings are reserved for the busy!
There is a blessing in watching and waiting and not just waiting. Do something while waiting on God. Pray while waiting. Get busy while waiting. God will bless you and answer your prayer when you are busy doing something. Idling attracts frustration while waiting and a lack of faith creeps in. Do something while waiting for an answer from God. If God’s answer delays and you were doing something while waiting, you will not lose faith. Miraculous blessings are reserved for the busy!
As you wait to get a scholarship to a big university to study some serious course, study the little you can now afford. While waiting to get the big job that is equivalent to your high education, do some job that keeps you busy with some income, or engage in business. While waiting to date the ideal person who your imagination and movies have fooled you about, date the ordinary mortals of your faith and who seem to qualify except one or two things. While waiting for huge capital to start an earth-shaking business, start small with the little you have. While waiting to preach to or sing or serve millions of people, do it to the handful in your vicinity. Are you tired of your current job and you hope for a better job? Get busy in your current terrible job while waiting. Do something while waiting. Do not be idle. Pray for the big things while waiting. Miraculous blessings are reserved for the busy!
Ecclesiastes 11:6
Sow your seed in the morning,
and at evening let your hands not be idle,
for you do not know which will succeed,
whether this or that,
or whether both will do equally well.
Clearly, from scripture, it seems God hates “idle-atry” or being idle. Ecclesiastes tells us to be busy even when we have finished the main business of the day. Even during holidays and breaks from work and school, get busy doing something productive. God will bless what you are busy doing and will answer your prayer while you are busy. Miraculous blessings are reserved for the busy!
Are you waiting for something big and huge to happen? Are you waiting for a critical answer to prayer? Are you anxious about something? Be busy with something else after you have done everything about it and you are now waiting. May God bless your busyness while waiting, in Jesus’ name, Amen!

Blessings are reserved for busy people who focus on serving God , then God focuses on them and blesses them abundantly. Lord should have Mercy on us, for many times when we are busy, it’s about self, trying to sort out things on our own, but the Lord’s blessing is our greatest wealth and all our works adds nothing to God’s blessings (Proverbs 10:22)
Amen!
