Take Note That He Knows The Truth

Hebrews 4:13
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Contemporary English Version
Nothing is hidden from God! He sees through everything, and we will have to tell him the truth.

Good News Translation
There is nothing that can be hid from God; everything in all creation is exposed and lies open before his eyes. And it is to him that we must all give an account of ourselves.

This text tells us about the attribute of God which is Omniscience or all-knowing. God knows everything. The text tells us that there is nothing hidden from God. There is nothing He can’t know. There is nothing He doesn’t know. There is nothing He has to discover. God knows everything and in detail. Take note that He knows the truth!

Someone has said we can’t know God the way He knows us. We can’t know God the way we know ourselves. We can’t know God the way we know others. We can’t know God the way others know us. We may know one or two things about God but we do not know Him unless He reveals Himself as He has done. Take note that He knows the truth!

Go about life remembering that there is nothing hidden before God. Whatever you do in hiding is known to God. The phone calls you make are excellently recorded in heaven. Your secret life is not a secret to God. All life is lived in a plain view of God. God can see through walls and roofs. God can listen to the sighing of the heart, whispers of lips, laughter, and agony of everyone. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Take note that He knows the truth!

See God sees and listens in secret we need to be conscious when we think we are hiding from human beings. No one can hide from God or hide anything from God. God knows and God sees. Take note that He knows the truth!

Finally, the text tells us that we will give an account to God. We will have to explain ourselves before God. He will demand to know the truth from us, yet He knows that truth. We will have to tell God why we did what we did. Why we said what we said. Why we acted the way we acted. What we did and didn’t do will be a subject of judgment. Take note that He knows the truth!

Do not live your life hiding from people, yet you do not have to account for them. You may have to account to human beings whom you compromise but you can’t compromise God yet we must account to Him. We can successfully look innocent before human beings even when we are guilty. We can evade human justice. We can buy human justice. We can be ruthless and merciless and spread terror to hide the truth, but not before God. We can bribe witnesses or neutralize them but God is the chief witness and you can hide nothing from Him and to Him, we must account. Take note that He knows the truth!

We worry about people yet we should worry about God. Human beings can’t harm us. God can obliterate us. We should be conscious of God and not people. We should not worry about getting caught since God who decides our eternal destiny already knows the truth. Take note that He knows the truth!

Perpetrators should take note that God knows the truth and they will account to Him. Victims should be comforted that the judge of the universe knows the truth. Cases that have ended as a mystery are no mystery to God. Closed cases where justice was never done are not closed before God. Be comforted, do not revenge, and do not harm anybody, since God knows the truth and has the final say on earth. Take note that He knows the truth!

God is the audience before whom our life unfolds. We should act out well before God the audience that matters. Fellow human beings are acting too in the stage of life. Impressing human beings is inconsequential. Human beings are not the audience of our life, God is the audience. Do not forget the audience and start impressing fellow actors, it’s a waste. Our audience knows the truth. God, our audience once our act of life before Him to demonstrate faith in Him. We can’t and shouldn’t hide anything if He is our audience. Take note that He knows the truth!

Remind us daily, dear God, that You know everything and You know the truth. May we live our lives with You as our only audience, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
