The Sure Path to Greatness at Anything!

Deuteronomy 4:7
What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to him?

Good News Translation
“No other nation, no matter how great, has a god who is so near when they need him as the LORD our God is to us. He answers us whenever we call for help.

Greatness is equivalent to the best achievement. We all want to live fulfilled lives. We all want to be meaningful in life. We all want to be great in one way or the other. We all appreciate greatness as a goal worth attaining. Therefore, wouldn’t we all appreciate a sure path to greatness at anything?

Our text today is set on the borders of the Promised Land. Moses has led Israelites for forty years from Egypt to the place where they are about to cross into their God-given Promised Land. On this border, Moses gives them a final speech. The speech covers many important aspects of history and believers’ life. Our attention is on his reference to greatness.

Moses tells the Israelites that no other group of people in the whole world is as great as Israel. Great? Yes, great. Why are they great? Is it because of their stable economy? No. Is it because of a mighty army? No. What makes Israel the greatest among all nations?

What makes Israel greater than everyone else is that their God is so near to them. They have a close relationship with their God. They do not struggle to relate with their God. How is your relationship with God? There is no sustainable greatness outside of having a consistent relationship with God. This is the sure path to greatness at anything!

Good News Bible tells us that God is so near to Israel whenever they need Him. God has never failed. When you need Him He shows up mighty to save. God is the sure source and guarantee of help that bolsters us to greatness at anything. Who is your source of help? Who do you turn to? God is a guaranteed present help in times of trouble. Problems are obstacles on our way to success. God removes all obstacles. He is the sure path to greatness at anything!

God is a reliable partner, whenever you call Him and seek Him, He avails Himself. God in His limitlessness has availed Himself to all of us. God’s power, immense power is available for your studies and exams. It is also available for your work and business. It is also available for your health. It is also available for your finances. It is also available for your relationships. This availability of God’s power to genuine believers is what produces greatness. This is the sure path to greatness at anything!

Prayer is for the great only. When we pray, God comes near us. When God comes nears us, He comes with unstoppable power that achieves anything. Then we become great in a sustainable way. This is the sure path to greatness at anything!

Dear God, help us follow this formula. May we seek you in prayer. May you come close to us in power and bring solutions on our path to excellence. May Your closeness to us make us greater beyond ours and anyone’s expectations. May this formula work for us, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
