Discipline Is A Game Changer

Proverbs 5:12
You will say, “How I hated discipline!
How my heart spurned correction!

Proverbs 5:23
For lack of discipline they will die,
led astray by their own great folly.

One thing differentiates the happy son of Solomon and the regretting son of Solomon. In the end when the sons of Solomon realize where they are in life, they will highlight one thing that made all the difference. That one thing is discipline.

Solomon tells his sons that if they don’t heed his advice, they will regret it. They will regret that they hated discipline. They will regret that they ignored the correction. The word of God tells us today that lack of discipline is regrettable.

Discipline is the ability to force yourself to do the right thing that seems inconvenient. Discipline is doing what you don’t want to do but has to be done. Discipline is delaying gratification. Discipline is doing the hard work first and enjoying it later. A lack of discipline is regrettable in life.

The majority of people are mediocre because they lack discipline. A majority of people are in poverty because they lack discipline. Most people live lives they don’t like because they lack discipline. Being disciplined gives you an advantage over everyone else. Discipline is a game-changer!

If there is one change you need to make in life to live a better life, then be disciplined. Discipline means you will manage your finances well. Discipline means you will study and pass your exams. Discipline means you will avoid bad friends and addictive habits. Discipline means you will eat healthily and have a healthy lifestyle. Discipline will affect everything positively. Discipline is a game-changer!

Discipline will force you to make short-term plans and long-term plans. Discipline will force you to focus on your plans and work towards achieving them. Discipline will force you to have priorities so that your best time and energy is spent on what matters. Discipline is a game-changer!

Solomon tells his readers that only the disciplined will avoid the temptation of the adulterous woman. The disciplined May desire the woman but will not go near her house and instead will run away from her. Discipline is a game-changer!

Solomon inspired by God writes that for lack of discipline they will die. Lack of discipline may look like a minor issue but in the end, it will cause a regrettable death. Lack of discipline is dangerous. Discipline is what we need to avoid regretting when it’s too late to change anything. Discipline is a game-changer!

Dear God, help me to live a disciplined life, in Jesus’s name, Amen!
