The Most Dangerous Place Yet Without Warning Signs

Ecclesiastes 5:1
Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong.

Be careful what you do when you enter the house of God. Fools go there to offer sacrifices, because all they do is sin. But it’s best just to listen when you go to worship.

New Living Translation
As you enter the house of God, keep your ears open and your mouth shut. It is evil to make mindless offerings to God.

A dangerous place should have warning signs so that accidents can be prevented. Without warning signs, deaths and injuries will constantly be reported from that dangerous place. Therefore, what do you think of the most dangerous place in the whole world, and yet there are no warning signs all around?

A dangerous place is a place where it is easy to make a mistake or wrong move that will cause huge losses and even the loss of life. A dangerous place is where if you must go, you go carefully to avoid losses. Therefore dangerous places are full of warning signs so that everyone remains grateful. Yet there is the most dangerous place that has no warning signs.

The church is the most dangerous place that has no signs warning those around it of danger. The church is a holy place. Irreverence can lead to instant death or curses that affect the quality of life. Be careful when approaching a place of worship!

Be careful at the place of worship. Show total obedience to God. Listen to God and minimize talking. Worship is God’s agenda and not yours. Go to worship to let God speak to you and guide you. Be very humble before God!

The place of worship requires a focus on God. We can’t go to the place of worship and keep consulting friends on mundane things. Whispering and murmuring that eventually distracts us and others from listening are wrong. We must show respect to the God who has our life in His hands or else we threaten our lives.

Accessing the phone and other gadgets for the internet that distracts us from worship is unacceptable. Playing games and getting distracted is disrespectful to a God who gives life. The Bible emphasizes today that go and listen. All your attention must be on the proceedings. Do not offend the God who has your life in His hands!

Walking into worship late habitually is disrespectful. Walking out of worship before the service ends is making a statement that something else is much more important than worship. Nothing can be much more important than God to warrant regular walk out during worship.

Preparing a lousy service is wrong for worship leaders. Worship that is poorly done will distract everyone from listening to God. It is sin to organize haphazard worship. Unprepared presentations are a mockery of a holy God.

Daniel 5:23
Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven…But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.

We honor God because our lives are in His hands. We honor God because all our ways are in His hands. God alone can cause death or life in us. God alone can bring success or failure. When we come to worship this God, it can be a great and good experience if we show reverence. Worshiping God can be the most dangerous activity if we are irreverent at worship. There may be no warning signs but it is the most dangerous place on earth!

May God instruct us and help us to be reverent in worship. May we always be sensitive that this is the most dangerous place and we should conduct ourselves in total honor of God, in Jesus’s name, Amen!
