Marriage Made Them To Become Evil People !

2 Kings 8:18 – He(Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat) followed the ways of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done, for he married a daughter of Ahab. He did evil in the eyes of the LORD.

2 Kings 8:27 – He(Ahaziah son of Jehoram ) followed the ways of the house of Ahab and did evil in the eyes of the LORD, as the house of Ahab had done, for he was related by marriage to Ahab’s family.

Marriage doesn’t make everyone evil, no! Marriage if poorly entered into can make one evil. It’s not enough to marry anyone, because whoever you marry could be the source of your righteous living or the beginning of you being evil.

The Bible records that Jehoram wasn’t evil initially. But when Jehoram married the daughter of Ahab, he became evil. A woman influenced him to become evil.

Many men falsely believe that they have an upper hand and no woman can influence them against their will. They think men are more likely to influence women, but the reverse has proven to be constantly true. Women can influence men significantly against their wish!

Ahaziah son of Jehoram followed the ways of his father. Ahaziah noticed that his mother influenced his father. Therefore when he got married he also allowed his wife to influence him. If my mother influenced my father then my wife can influence me.

Parents should be careful knowing that the example they set at home will be repeated by their children. If you fight as parents, your children will fight in their marriages or tolerate violence that can even be fatal. If you disrespect each other, your children will disrespect their spouses or tolerate disrespect. Ahaziah son of Jehoram was influenced by his wife to evil as his father Jehoram was influenced by his wife to evil.

Jehoram and Ahaziah became evil because they were influenced to be evil by their wives. Marriage made them evil. If they weren’t married probably they wouldn’t be evil.

If you are not married, go slow and carefully choose the person who will influence you. What influence will your marriage have on you based on your choice of partner? Pray and carefully choose!

If you are married, what has your marriage made you to become? Are you better off or worse off? What have you made your marriage partner to be? Would they be better off without you or are they glad you are in their life? Marriage carries a huge influence on us all!

Eve influenced Adam to eat the forbidden fruit. Noah influenced his wife to get into the Ark. Delilah influenced and destroyed Samson. Ananias and Sapphira influenced each other to their tragic deaths. Marriage unless carefully handled, can be the end of you!”

Dear God we pray for wisdom before entering into marriage. Wisdom to choose the right partner. Wisdom to relate well in marriage. Wisdom to avoid evil influence in marriage. Wisdom to set the right example for our children. In Jesus’s name, Amen!
