Song of Songs 7:6 – How beautiful you are and how pleasing, my love, with your delights!
There is a difference between lusting and celebrating. Lusting is a desire for something you don’t have and that desire obsesses you. You can’t lust for what you already have, you can only appreciate it.
Jesus warned against looking at a woman lustfully. The woman or man that you look at lustfully is not yours, hence the lust. Coveting is lusting. When you lust, you commit the sin in the mind and all you need is an opportunity. The tenth commandment is against lusting.
Song of Songs does not promote lust. This book promotes celebration. When you appreciate someone you are celebrating that person.
The repeated words in the book of Song of songs are – my love. That suggests that this is not about admiring some random stranger or someone who you shouldn’t be admiring in such a manner. This shows that the two love birds in the book Song of Songs belong on to each other by marriage.
The two celebrate each other by praising each other’s physical features. By dreaming and wishing to have quality time with each other. The language shows they are totally consumed with each other.
Genesis 1:4 – GOD SAW THAT THE LIGHT WAS GOOD, and he separated the light from the darkness.
Genesis 1:10 – God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD.
Genesis 1:12 – The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD.
Genesis 1:18 – to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD.
Genesis 1:21 – So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD.
Genesis 1:25 – God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD.
Genesis 1:31 – GOD SAW ALL THAT HE HAD MADE, AND IT WAS VERY GOOD. And there was evening, and there was morning —the sixth day.
God greatly appreciated His creation work. The Bible verses show God celebrating every aspect of His creation. Why can’t we celebrate nature? Why can’t we celebrate each other?
Daily, God celebrated His work. Daily, we should celebrate those we love and the people around us. It is good for any relationship if we celebrate each other. If all you see in someone is the negative and nothing to celebrate- you are toxic. Be intentional and celebrate your partner. I repeat, be intentional! A day shouldn’t go by without you celebrating your partner. If you are waiting to be celebrated but you don’t initiate the celebration- you are a toxic partner. Be intentional and initiate the celebration!
If you have a sweetheart, an intimate partner approved by God and with whom your lives are tired, it’s important to celebrate that person. Express admiration. Show particular interest in parts of their body. Express your dreams and desires for each other. Celebrate each other!
When your sweetheart knows that you have a total admiration for them, it is healthy for their mind. It is healthy for your bond. It is a sense of security. Celebrate your sweetheart!
God designed us with aspects that are visible and therefore deserve your appreciation. God created us to feel better when appreciated. God created us to show maturity by expressing appreciation and by accepting it. Celebrate your sweetheart!
May God bless our relationships with such an admiration for each other. May we get hints of how to celebrate each other from chapter seven of Song of Songs. May we enjoy celebrating and being celebrated. In Jesus’s name, Amen!
