1 John 5:7 – For there are three that testify:
1 John 5:8 – the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.
In modern day parlance, authentication is a secure process of allowing access to virtual resources and services. If you wish to access your bank online, the bank has a process of authentication. This process ensures that it is you and not someone else accessing your account. The more levels of authentication the safer the system!
One level of authentication can be a password you know. The second level can be a one time password sent to your personal mobile device. The third one can be a finger print or face identification. The more the levels of authentication the safer the system!
You will not access what you need until all the authentication levels successfully admit you. The Bible talks of three authentications that must successfully admit us if we are to receive God’s favor in this life and eternal life in the life to come. The Spirit, the water and the blood!
The Holy Spirit must posses our lives and guide us into all the truth in the Bible. Without the Holy Spirit we will not understand the Bible truths. Without the Holy Spirit we will never be powerful enough to overcome sin. The Holy Spirit and His guidance is an inevitable part of a believer’s life.
Without the Holy Spirit you may get satisfied with some biblical truths but refuse to accept others. You may total accept the spiritual gift of speaking in tongues, but refuse to understand the Sabbath message and its place in a believer’s life AFTER salvation. Without the Holy Spirit we can get lost in our selective biased reading of scripture.
The three level authentication has Spirit, water and blood. Water has to do with baptism that Jesus went through and recommended. We must be guided by the Holy Spirit, but we must also get baptized. Baptism by immersion in water is a public testimony that you belong to God. There will be no blessings unless you go through this authentication in addition to others!
The third authentication is the blood. The death of Jesus on the cross. The crucifixion of Jesus. Do you believe Jesus died for you? Do you believe that the death of Jesus was a substitute to your own death? That belief is a saving belief. Without that belief, we can’t accept salvation.
This is a mandatory three level authentication. Spirit, water and blood. Some people may be exempted from one level due to their circumstances. The thief on the cross couldn’t get baptized. God knows your circumstances.
Pray for the three level authentication to a better life and eternal life to come. Pray that you will be authenticated through the Spirit, water and blood, in Jesus’s name, Amen!
