A Fight Without A Winner

Galatians 5:15
If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

Contemporary English Version
But if you keep attacking each other like wild animals, you had better watch out or you will destroy yourselves.

Amplified Bible
But if you bite and devour one another [in bickering and strife], watch out that you [along with your entire fellowship] are not consumed by one another.

If you know a fight has no winner, will you get into that fight? Would you risk getting killed without a guarantee of winning? Will you risk getting injured and losing valuable s yet you have no chance of ever winning?

If there is no chance of winning, what does that mean? Doesn’t that mean the only sure thing is loss? Would you continue on a process that guarantees failure? There is a fight without a winner and many people are engaged in it.

Apostle Paul tells the Galatian church that if they fight against each other, there will be no winner. They will succeed in destroying each other. This is a fight without a winner!

If you spend time gossiping and speaking falsehoods and negative things about each other, there will be no winner. All of you will get dirty and tarnished. This is a fight without a winner!

If you spend time planning against each other. If you spend time ensuring you have punished someone else to teach them a lesson. This is a fight without a winner!

Do not revenge when you are offended. If you revenge and there is a counter-revenge, the whole community will destroy each other. The mature believer will let the pain and hurt stop with him or her rather than revenge. Revenge is a fight without a winner. What you do, will surely be done to you and your children. This is a fight without a winner!

Matthew 5:38
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’
Matthew 5:39
But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.

In Exodus 21:23-27 the Bible had given a command that looked like justice by revenge. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Jesus came and abolished that command. Jesus says you should let the pain end with you. Don’t revenge at all. This is a fight without a winner!

Matthew 7:2
For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

What you do when in power will be done to you when you are out of power. It will be done to your children when you are weak and helpless. Do not hurt anyone when you can because that is a fight without a winner!

When church members fight each other. When church members engage in revenge. That church will have no winner. It will collapse and cease to exist. It is a fight without a winner!

When a family turns against each other and wash their dirty linen publicly, there will be no winner. Even in the event of divorce, there is no winner. Even if a partner moves on quickly and seems to be progressing well, they still have lost. This is a fight without a winner!

If you knew a fight has no winner, will you keep fighting knowing you will lose? Now that you kn
ow these fights that have no winners, keep off the fight in the name of Jesus, Amen!
