1 Corinthians 4:5
Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.
Apostle Paul tells the Corinthian church not to rush to conclusions. Judge nothing before the appointed time. Do not be too quick to make a conclusion, you may and many times will regret your conclusion. Wisdom requires that you delay judgment. Be slow in claiming you know why she said that or why he did it. Be slow to conclude. There is no wisdom in rushing to a conclusion. After all, a conclusion is an end of a matter so there is no need to rush. Do not rush in apportioning the blame. Do not rush in condemning. Do not rush in praising.
Then Apostle Paul tells the church to wait until the Lord comes. The coming of the Lord will put an end to everything. The coming of the Lord will make conclusions that are not erratic or subject to review. The coming of the Lord is at the end of the world, but also even in our day-to-day lives. God does show up and clarifies issues. Do not rush in concluding that it is over for Lazrus who is now four days buried. Wait for the coming of the Lord. Do not give up on Jairu’s daughter who is dying now dead, wait for the Lord. Do not rush in concluding that tonight we caught nothing while fishing, wait for the Lord it may turn out as it did to be the night of the bumper harvest. Do not rush to conclusions, wait for the Lord.
Do not rush to a conclusion about that cancer or whatever sickness, wait for the Lord. Do not rush to the conclusion about that person who just failed or experienced loss, wait for the Lord. Do not rush to conclude that it is totally over for Job and he will end in abject poverty, wait for the Lord, his later days will be better than the former. Do not rush to a conclusion, wait for the Lord. Do not rush to a conclusion about the good and the bad in your life or that of anyone else, wait for the Lord!
Wait of the Lord because He will expose the motives of the heart. He will bring out the hidden. He will expose the secrets behind what we see openly. When God exposes you, you will realize what you were praising was not worth any praise. When God exposes the secrets, you will discover what you were doubting and suspecting was worthy of all your trust. Do not rush to conclusions, it is not wisdom, wait for the Lord to do an exposè.
God will expose the hidden things behind what we knew as everything. If there was more to it than meets the eye, God will show it. Those who live double lives will have both lives exposed at a go. God has promised to expose everything that goes on here. God will expose organizations and individuals. God will expose governments and churches. There will be a grand exposè.
Motives behind love. Motives behind the hate. Motives behind favors. Motives behind praise. Motives behind condemnation. Motives behind actions and inactions. Motives behind hardworking. Motives behind friendship. Motives behind the free lunch. Before you appreciate or condemn, do not rush to a conclusion, wait for God to do the exposé.
Ecclesiastes 12:14
For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.
God will expose all these things at the end of time when he saves some to heaven and condemns others to eternal punishment. God will expose these things during the one thousand years that saints will spend in heaven, see Revelation 20. During the one thousand years in heaven, God will explain to all who ask as to why some got saved and some did not. Some very good people who we thought should be saved and are lost, we will ask answers from God. God will expose the motives of men’s hearts. Some terrible people who we meet in eternal life and we didn’t expect them, God will explain. God will expose the motives of men’s hearts.
However, on a small scale, God still exposes the motives of men’s hearts in our day-to-day life. God enables us to understand the hidden motives of people who had a hidden way of life. Wait for God in your day-to-day life. Wait for God at the end of time. Do not rush to conclusions, God will expose nothing but the whole truth. It will be a grand motives exposé.
Dear God, grant me patience, enable me so that I do not rush to conclusions. Teach me to wait on the Lord, help me to be ready for the daily exposés and the ultimate one, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
