They Won’t Fail But We Will Succeed Against Them

Acts 5:23
“We found the jail securely locked, with the guards standing at the doors; but when we opened them, we found no one inside.”

If your opponent doesn’t fail in his plans against you, what does it mean? Doesn’t it mean that you will experience defeat? Isn’t the failure of your opponent your success? Isn’t the success of your opponent your failure? Yet the message today is that your opponent will not fail but you will succeed against him or her!

Jewish leaders hated the Apostles of Jesus. Jewish leaders joined with Roman officials and planned to arrest Apostles and throw them in prison. They succeeded in arresting the Apostles of Jesus. They succeeded in throwing them in prison. They succeeded in securing the prison in a manner that no one could break in. The opponents of the Apostles did not fail in their plans against the Apostles of Jesus. They won’t fail but we will succeed against them!

At night the Angel of God came and rescued the Apostles miraculously from prison. There was nothing broken and the secure doors remained secure but the Apostles were gone. When Jewish and Roman leaders came, they found the prison as secure as ever. The plan to keep Apostles in a secure facility had not failed. The system was secure, but the Apostles were gone. They did not fail in securing the prison but the Apostles succeeded in getting out!

The Apostles got out of prison without upsetting the elaborate security system set in place. The Apostles got out of prison using divine powers, without confronting and harming the human plans in place. All that the leaders planned against the Apostles succeeded but the Apostles still managed to preach the gospel. They won’t fail but we will succeed against them!

God can let your enemies succeed in their plans against you but He makes sure you emerge victorious. They can succeed in poisoning your food, but God ensures you do not die. They succeed in scheming against you but God ensures you still thrive. They can succeed in hurting you but God ensures the pain doesn’t overwhelm you. They can succeed in frustrating you and ensuring you know who the boss is, but God ensures your resilience bears fruit. Your enemies won’t fail but you will succeed!

Enemies of God’s people succeeded in throwing them into the fiery furnace, but God’s people walked out unscathed. They won’t fail but we will succeed. The enemies of Daniel succeed in throwing him into the lion’s den, but God rescued him. The won’t fail but we will succeed. When our enemies succeed we can still remain victorious with God’s help. They won’t fail but we will succeed!

Our enemies should never celebrate when they are succeeding in their plans against us because God can surprise them by letting them succeed but we win. Their success should not intimidate us. Your enemies won’t fail but you will succeed!

Dear God, may I not panic when my enemies succeed, but may success come to me from you in spite of them, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
