John 5:13
The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there.
Sometimes you may have no idea what to do. You are in a situation best described as, damn if you do and damn if you don’t. You are clueless about the best way forward. This is the point at which you call on Jesus. You pray as you consult those who may know better. Pray as you consult and in the name of Jesus an idea will come.
Sometimes you may have no idea how things worked or who did it for you. You wonder how you passed that exam. You wonder how that accident didn’t claim your life. You wonder how your low qualifications were considered over others. You have no idea how it worked and who did it for you.
You have no idea how little income has sufficiently served all your needs. You have no idea how you haven’t fallen ill with all these exposures. You have no idea how the relationship has survived all these difficulties. You have no idea how things are working well when the worst should have happened.
The Bible text today tells us of a man who Jesus healed. The man had been sick for thirty-eight years. The sick man expected help so that he can get into the healing pool when the water is stirred by an Angel. Jesus came on a Sabbath day and told him to pick his mat and go! Just like that and he got healed.
In the excitement of healing, he forgot to ask who the healer is. When the man got healed, Jesus didn’t linger around for applause. We shouldn’t linger around for praise after doing something good, like Jesus we should move on. When the healed man came to his senses he couldn’t tell who healed him. He had no idea who healed him.
As the healed man walked around with his mat he had questions he couldn’t answer. He was asked why he was carrying a mat on Sabbath and he said the Healer told him to do so. When he was asked who the Healer was, he had no idea.
Many things God does for us we don’t notice it’s God who did it. We often have no idea and wrongly credit other people or our efforts, yet it’s God. Sometimes we even confess that we don’t know how it all worked. We forget there is a God in action in us and around us.
When you have no idea how it worked so well, take note it is God and thank Him by faith. When all is well and you have no idea, give glory to God and not your luck or efforts. Even when you have an idea, it still is God who has done it. Always give credit to God!
You have no idea what to do? Prayerfully consult those who may know. You have no idea how things have worked so well? Give glory to God. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
