2 Corinthians 6:4 Our work as God’s servants gets VALIDATED—or not—in the details. People are watching us as we stay at our post, alertly, unswervingly . . . in hard times, tough times, bad times; 6:5 when we’re beaten up, jailed, and mobbed; working hard, working late, working without eating;…(Message Bible)
2 Corinthians 6:4 – Rather, as servants of God we COMMEND ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses;
2 Corinthians 6:5 – in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger;
2 Corinthians 6:6 – in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love;
2 Corinthians 6:7 – in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left;
2 Corinthians 6:8 – through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors;
2 Corinthians 6:9 – known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed;
2 Corinthians 6:10 – sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
That which has been validated is genuine. That which has been validated is reliable. That which has been validated is considered the best compared to others. Have you been validated through this process?
To validate something is to take it through a test process that confirms that it is what it claims to be. To validate someone is to confirm that the person is who they claim to be. To validate is the best thing that can happen to something or anyone. Have you been validated through this process?
Validation gives the public confidence. Validation tells the public that this can be trusted. In an age and time when the fake and corrupted abound, validation is desperately needed. Fake Christians, fake church leaders, fake friends, fake people masquerading as loyal. We are in desperate need of validated people. Have you been validated through this process?
Would you prefer cheap unvalidated goods and services or expensive validated stuff? Would you prefer validated friends or run the risk of attaching to fake people. Would you be glad if the public knew that you have been validated? Have you been validated through this process?
The Bible in our passage today tells us that validation of believers and their leaders is on going. We are validated through what we go through. Our response to good and bad validates us as fake or as good. Have you been validated through this process?
If you go though problems and you remain faithful to God, you have been validated through those problems. If you go through exciting good times of excellence and you don’t become proud and untouchable, you have been validated through that good time. Have you been validated through this process?
Job suffered and it validated that his love for God was not because of wealth or health. When Job lost wealth, children and then health he remained faithful. The suffering validated him. What we go through validates us. Have you been validated through this process?
If you remain faithful to your spouse in hard times and don’t quit when you have a windfall, you have been validated as a good spouse. Have you been validated to be a true friend? Prodigal son lost all friends when he ran out of money. Are you a true friend? Are you a truly committed and good spouse? Have you been validated through this process?
Good times and bad times validate who we are. Do we change when times are good or bad? Some people ca remain faithful in the fiercest torture and persecution, but they can resist revolting against God when affluence and influence becomes their portion. They may not be validated by suffering, but comfort exposes them. Both tests need to be applied. Have you been validated through this process?
Apostle Paul states that both tests have been applied to them and they have proven to be servants of God. You must remain faithful under all tests, both the good and the bad. Not one test but both. Have you been validated through this process?
Have you been validated as a boyfriend or girlfriend? Have you been validated as a child who is obedient and supportive of your parents? Have you been validated as a faithful worker who doesn’t seek to please bosses or get promotions but actually loves the job. Have you been validated through this process?
Are you suffering and in pain? You are being validated. Are you enjoying great good times? You are being validated. How is your relationship with God during validation? Remain faithful under all circumstances. In Jesus’s name, Amen!
