A steering wheel may be a small and seemingly negligible part of the vehicle but it is not negligible. The steering wheel is used to change the direction of the vehicle. A steering wheel is used to steady the vehicle if during motion it tends to go to one side or the other. What could be the steering wheel of life?

If your steering wheel gets spoilt you are in trouble. If a steering wheel gets spoilt the vehicle will go in a direction that may not be the wish of the driver. Without a functioning steering wheel, the driver has lost control. What could be the steering wheel of life?

The Bible tells us today that we should guard our hearts because everything else in life is determined by that. The heart is also correctly translated as thoughts. Guard your thoughts. Life is steered by thoughts. Thoughts are the steering wheel of life.

If you think positively your life will tend toward the positive. If you think positively your mind will select and pick the positive things around you and deliberately ignore the negative. Thoughts are the steering wheel of life!

Our thoughts can create a reality that doesn’t exist. A disease can get worse just because of your thoughts. A small negligible situation can become gigantic because of our thoughts. A small negligible comment or post by a perceived opponent can become a thesis against your life, yet in reality, it is not. Your thoughts can magnify anything out of proportion. The Bible says, guard your thoughts. Thoughts are the steering wheel of life!

A paranoid person is one who thinks and believes that anything and everything is done against him or her. A paranoid person thinks every meeting called without him or her is to plan something to bring harm. A paranoid person will see people talking and conclude what they said and be so sure that it is true yet it is not. A paranoid person entertains rumor mongers who confirm her fears that indeed there is danger from so and so.

A paranoid person has so many enemies with the cause of enmity remaining unknown. The thoughts of a paranoid person are sick. Paranoid person believes in themselves and their negative thoughts about others. Paranoia begins with wrong thoughts. The Bible says, above all else, to guard your heart or your thoughts. Thoughts are the steering wheel of life!

If we give up it happens in our thoughts. A person who has given up is unable to do anything. Not because the environment is not right. Not because they lack muscles. Not because of incompetence. This is all because when we give up in our thoughts, we disable the body from functioning. Thoughts are the steering wheel of life!

Matthew 5:21-22 tells us that thoughts of anger before God are perceived as murder. You only lacked opportunity but the intention was there. Your thoughts are perceived as a reality by God. Matthew 5:28 tells us that thoughts of lust are equivalent to adultery. God considers your thoughts to be a reality. What you think and reality are extremely close. Your thoughts always mold your reality. Thoughts are the steering wheel of life!

1 Corinthians 4:5
Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.

God knows our motives and therefore our thoughts. Motives and thoughts will be a subject of the coming judgment. God will expose the motives and thoughts. God focuses on the steering wheel. Thoughts are the steering wheel of life!

Your thoughts are molded by the people you keep the company. Your thoughts are molded by books you read, movies you watch, and music you enjoy. Stories you select to listen to will influence you. They influence your thinking completely! May God help us to guard our thoughts, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
